Join us in our Materials course this June to learn more about materials and their properties!

New materials are developed constantly. They are often key enabler to totally new products. It is very important to understand how different materials behave to avoid potentially fatal material mistakes in new products. However, it is not uncommon that people working in product development and manufacturing have very little background knowledge of the materials they are working with or understanding how different materials behave. Similarly, people working in quality or reliability may not understand the behavior of materials and how this affects manufacturing and reliability. In worst case this can lead to catastrophic failures.

As novel materials are developed opening new applications, it is vital to understand what kind of restrictions and possibilities these new materials bring and how to take this into account. Especially, the development of new polymer materials (or plastics) has been very fast and has opened lots of new possibilities. However, to avoid critical mistakes in the use of these materials it is crucial to understand their properties and behavior. Join us in our Materials course this June to learn more about materials and their properties. See more in  https://www.trelic.fi/courses/.

By the way, the picture below shows copper wire with OSP (Organic Solderability Preservative) on top of a PCB (Printed Circuit Board) which has corroded due to corrosive gases.
